This Sticky thread has been set up to contain information about reputable tyre fitters that can and will fit tyres to tubeless rims without any problems.

Please feel free to add your recommended specialists.

Thanks,

Darrell

Anybody needing tyres put on tubeless rims in the Maidstone/Medway area try here:

Medway Tyres Ltd Unit 2/Enterprise Centre/Revenge Rd Chatham, ME5 8UD, 01634 681682

The guy there, Steve I think, did mine for £5 each, he was very friendly and did a superb job.

They were Schwalbe raceman tyres btw, don't know if these are easier or harder to fit than other makes of tyre!

Cheers.

Robspeed in Grimsby/cleethorpes have done 4 for me, cheap and no damage to rims. Make sure you mark the tyres as to which way round the valves go though, as it's not a specialist place (mainly big bikes)

Teesside, North East area:

Dave at Frontline Motorcyles 01642 452426.

He also supplies the tyres and will do any other Lambretta engine work, splitting cranks, rebores etc.

Putting the tyres onto the rims is included in the price of the tyre :D

Youles in Blackburn did mine. No scratches scuffs or dents. Highly recomended (Lambretta tubeless rims).

I take it all back damaged my front tyre when fitting it causing the tyre not to seal correctly (granted these where Vespre tubeless rims) . causing the tyre to deflate instantly when cornering brown trousers all round (but kept upright PHEW!). Only found out they'd knackered the tyre after the deflation ie FURTHER INSPECTION)

Then damaged the rim when removing the tyre (when they where only supposed to be looking at the damaged tyre not REMOVING IT) Gits.... although they dis repair the rim and fit another FOC.......(I had to supply another new tyre)

Needles to say they said they don't to fit any more.........

Sidcup Motorcycle Tyre Centre, Alma Road, Sidcup. Also a Continental tyre supplier.

Please note I would always suggest that tubeless tyres to be always fitted by a trained qualified tyre fitter. It's usually free fitting. Again if you have a puncture get it checked out by a qualified person. Better to be safe than sorry. I apologise for the sermon but I used to work in the tyre game.

I have just had tyres fitted to my new tubeless rims at APC Motorcycles in South Harrow (NW London). The tyres would not go on with the machine due to the depth of the well so they had to resort to using leavers. The tyres were mounted without distorting the rims but the powder coat was unfortunately chipped off in a few places. This does not worry me too much as it is for my work bike so I touched it up with Hammerite smooth.
Perhaps next time I will tape up the outside of the rim to protect it.

I know it is off subject but I always use these guys for my Lambretta's MOTs. Although they are a bike shop they understand scooters and never mess you around unlike any of the main dealers in my area one of which is a piaggio dealer (and they are the worst).

Is APC the only one known about in the London area?

I though I saw on the ScootRS site they were doing a rim and tyre deal, has this now finished... Been away for a while and the scoot in storage!

Anyone got a tire preference?

Best Tyres in the Sidings, Settle, N. Yorks fitted my Lammie tubeless rims with Michelinf S1's. They're not a bike garage, but know about smaller wheel sizes and sdid a good job for me
