Took the SX for MOT yesterday and the tester said he had never had a scooter register so high on the front brake, it pulled 98% which is the maximum his machine goes to.

It's a standard inboard disc with reverse pull and sintered pads. The difference came when I put the sintered pads in and I only get the occasional squeal. In fact the braking is as good as the outboard disc on my GP.

Anyone else seen this sort of difference.

Thats impressive, just carefully rebuilding mine at the moment and hoping for a half decent brake. Would reverse pull make any difference on the static brake machine?

Reverse pull does make a slight difference but the difference with the sintered pads was enormous.

Yes i had a similar MOT experience (not as high as 98% but getting close)

If you take your time and adjust it correctly then good braking can be achieved.

Still not as good as a hydraulic IMO

I got cintered pads from Mike Pheonix, squealed like a pig for first couple of months, but I persevered with them and they're now totally quiet and pretty good. Haven't done the reverse pull yet, maybe over winter.
